I am about to develop one of these myself only a little more complex.
Can anyone give me some advise on how I can force malloc (or equal) to
use only a particular region of memory?  i.e so if process1 maintains a
hashed list, complete with string pointers to variable length strings in
the nodes all children will be able to see this list?
